It seems that every time there is even the tiniest possibility to hurt people, Republicans rush to embrace it. Every possible corrupt nit is picked, every insane innuendo promoted, every prejudice plundered.

Meanwhile, every crime, every sexual deviance by an evangelical is excused.

Of course, it will have no effect - just like the ‘Uncommitted’ vote in Michigan.

The only gesture that WILL have an effect is when we vote to keep Biden, Harris and the Democrats in charge of Congress.

Rev. Sharpton has come very far from his youthful activities. He has fully redeemed himself, and is one of the most cogent, relevant, deft and compassionate voices embracing love and pride not only in the Black community, but for all of us.

According to Robert Hubbell (on Substack), a retired LA attorney, as of January 3, 2025, Johnson will no longer be Speaker. If the Dems re-take the House, all the Members-elect will vote and Hakeem Jeffries will become Speaker, and he will then swear in the others.

I hesitate to assume this to be our fate. I think Dems will continue to outperform poll predictions, and will definitely take the House, and *may* keep control of the Senate.

I have a lot of naive faith, I guess.

I also find that if I copy something from FB and try to paste it here on Spouty, it won’t paste. I have to paste it first into, say, a text or email, then copy that (deleting the text or email) and THEN it successfully pastes here into Spouty. Strange, but true.

I find it is not easy to post stuff from TwiXter. First, videos on TwiXter, when copied to FB, don’t show as videos, but only as TwiXter links. The best is when some video exists on YouTube, and THAT can be utilized.

... one could still view it two ways:
1. An attempt to tamp down the worst abuses
2. Helping Bibi commit war crimes

Since I consider Biden a decent person, I choose (1).
That said, nothing to stop the advisers themselves from being war-hawks. Lots of fanatics in our military.

Au contraire ! It is pretty much impossible. IMHO, the vociferous Biden-Harris critics act as tho he has a magic wand....
Meanwhile, The Intercept (a journal I view as highly biased, but still ... ) has a piece about US military helping Israel select targets. If that is so ...

When I speak with my Jewish neighbors, I am disheartened at how one-sided their views are: Israel can do no wrong, the Palestinians can do no good.

My lefty and Palestinian friends blame Biden for Israeli war crimes. Do they complain to Republicans?

Nope.
