Do you think they had more structure at their grandmother's? It seemed like such a contrast to me.

I've never been much of a poetry reader, but I really should try and I think hers would be a good place to start.

It was a different book. This one ended with the birth of her son. I need to read her other memoirs.

Yes, April shared that it was the examination, though there are always other reasons not verbalized, I think.

It annoyed me that the original doctor didn't monetize it but someone down the line did.

She established the Henrietta Lacks Foundation, but I haven't looked at the website yet to see what they do. She also said somewhere in the book that if the book made money she would establish educational scholarships for the Lacks children.

There were times when I thought, did you really need to share that? But for some I also wondered if Deborah asked her to. It wasn't always clear.

Yes, there's challenged, banned (removed from library), removal from reading lists, requests for substitutions, etc. For simplicity's sake, most of the media uses the term "banned," but there's a difference between all of them. To widen the choices, I've included books from all the categories.

It means mouse in German. It's a graphic novel about the Holocaust. Jews are depicted as mice. I highly recommend, both volumes.
