OMG y'all, I have a job! I got a job in my field, for people who seem to be decent, doing what I'm good at.

FINALLY. I can breathe a sigh of relief and let go of the constant worry and knot in the pit of my stomach.

I think the sycamore bark looks thinner. Kind of yellow green. Is it a black walnut?

Start from 100 years, the classic, and work back.
April Sparkles @April_Sparkles
I was thinking about how easy it is to become mired in stress and anxiety over what we see and hear around us.

When I feel overwhelmed I always ask if what I'm concerned about will matter in time increments.

Will it affect me in a day, a week, a month, a year, five years...

Do you do this? 💛

"Felix Mendelssohn described fellow composer Hector Berlioz’s works as if ‘all the instruments have a hangover and vomit music.’"

Oh, did this ever give me a chuckle! I don't agree with the sentiment but gotta love Felix's conviction!

Good tip, thank you. It doesn't account for being sometimes able to vote without clicking first. But I'll bear it in mind, thanks.
Michael J Sheridan @MSheridan62
I've found that to "see" your vote happen, you need to first click on the spout with the poll so you are viewing it directly before voting.

Otherwise, the poll doesn't appear to update, and then you get the error when you vote on the spout that is NOW in direct view due to your first attempt.

Some colleges try hard to deny there are sexual assaults on campus at all and get furious when people complain to local police because they get no response from college authorities. Yes, you, Princeton. The dean most guilty of this denial eventually left under pressure.
Heidi Hafeken @HeidiHafeken
It'll generally be the municipality's preference, too. Otherwise their crime rates go way up. Most people have no clue how high the crime rates in college towns actually are.

Mary Cole @euonymous
I'm sometimes baffled by the number of readers who believe that cartoons should be lightweight and entertainingly 'funny.' Humor has a lot of relatives -- wry, subtle, slapstick and even black ...

Among the shocking testimony today in Trump's criminal trial, came when former Enquirer publisher David Pecker revealed that then FBI Director James Comey was in the room, when Trump thanked Pecker for orchestrating their catch-and-kill deals.

I make ANZAC biscuits to honor the moms sending them all the way to sons in WW1 combat. And I observe in solidarity with Australian and New Zealand friends who need to know someone in the Northern hemisphere appreciates them.
Rhys Parton @RhysParton
My favourite Anzac Day was 2020.

People in my street lit candles out the front of their houses at 6:00am, observed a minutes silence, then shared the stories of their relatives who served.

I prefer that more personal level over marches.

But each to their own.

All of the above. Big books are best on my Kindle because it's the same light weight no matter what's loaded. I like adjusting font size, too. But if I want to read a book, I'll read it however I can get it.
