Looking back perhaps it is odd that my earliest feeling of safety & being #welcome was in an environment where I didn't even know the language. But the feeling of safety so alien before at home permeates abused marrow and you feel it. And know that differences don't mean danger. #Spoutories

He listened as his kids debated the argument he had with their uncle last night. The same argument leftover from his parent's "discussions," that rotted the house he & his brother grew up in. Family drama wasn't some atomic blast fallout. It was the slow drip of spilled trauma.
