Children act out because of many reasons when the have a mental illness: command hallucinations, unable to function in a structured setting (sit down/no talking) and all the absences create learning gaps
Stress is the allergen for mental illness
See symptoms: provide supported time away in class

This is not uncommon…we lack understand how to help children with mental health issues so districts opt out in many ways.
It is difficult to accept that your child has these issues and to know that mental illness is cyclical and there is no cure or one treatment that will help.

When I am frustrated by the fight, I remember Denise McQuade a wheelchair user who threw herself on to the steps of a bus the first day of the accessible buses rollout because we knew they weren’t trained and did not have the bus lift keys. She sat their for 9 hours

The SPECED CSE Director tried to tell me that NY does things their own way ( her dismay when I informed her I helped write the regs in the 1980s)

Jorge was neglected, deprived, and medically fragile.
They carried him around like a sack of potatoes.
His first social game was kicking my hands.
Then songs like happy and you know it (tough you head, etc)
He is just amazing
But it is a fight to get the system to see him
This week he sang ABC song

Every computer has text to speech options. I just graduated again and used text to speech for every text book. Still extra hard work but doable

I suppose I do not think about FISA used on a state or local level. The 4th Amendment is crucial to our freedom.
There are 4th amendment precedents upheld by the SCOTUS
