Whenever I see this picture I think of the soft rock song by Gerry Rafferty and I can't get that saxophone out of my head! The London Underground station however, is one of the original stations of the Metropolitan Railway, the world's first underground railway, opening on 10 January 1863.

We're going to take it way back today to my first year of travels, 1999 - 25 years ago! I was riding into Chicago, IL in style on the dash of a 1998 Saturn. Ah, those were the days. Look how fresh my fur looks!

Yesterday's photo was from outside the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. Today's is from the top! Those windows are tiny! I hear it's because of the incredible pressure converging in the middle of the arch from both sides. Larger windows would shatter. We don't want that!

If you've never been to the Sawmill Market in Albuquerque, New Mexico you are missing out! This abandoned old sawmill was renovated into a cool place full of local food vendors. They also have an amazing selection of local craft beers. This photo is from my visit in 2021. I blend in pretty well!

Last November I found myself in the catacombs underneath the city of Paris. This place is full of thousands upon thousands of actual skeletons. It is a fascinating place. A far cry from the beach in Maui I shared a picture of yesterday! Please LIKE and ECHO to help others find me if you are willing.

There is nothing quite as exotic as hanging out on the bank of the Maumee River in Toledo, OH. Okay, that is not true. But as a traveling cow, I try to find the beauty in all things. I found myself enjoying this particular spot in 2011.

Yes, there really is a Hell, Michigan. This place is a photo op and perhaps somewhere you would send a postcard from but not much more. I passed through in 2002.

The third botanic garden I have visited in the past six months is the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis where I was just this past weekend! Founded in 1859, the Missouri Botanical Garden is one of the oldest botanical institutions in the United States. This picture is from the Japanese Garden.

As I shared yesterday, I've visited three top botanical gardens in the past six months. The second one on the list is the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. Founded in 1937, this garden has more than 50,000 plants and focuses on plants adapted to desert conditions. Which other garden did I visit??

I've had the pleasure to have visited three of the top botanical gardens in the world over the past six months, starting last November with Kew Gardens in London. Founded in 1840, Kew houses the largest and most diverse botanical and mycological (fungi) collections in the world!

I got a little drunk at the Green Parrot on Key West in 2023 when I was dragged along for some day drinking (morning drinking, actually). As Jimmy Buffett once said, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere!

This is the Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver, British Columbia. he bridge was originally built in 1889. It is 460 feet long and 230 feet above the Capilano River below. I was here in 2007 and it was very frightening!

From 2023. This is outside the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre, a beautiful cathedral in Paris, France. New by European standards, it was opened in 1914 and from it's vantage point at the top of the hill in Montmartre, it offers stunning views of the city below.

I’m going to share another photo from my trip last week. I got to visit one of the newest National Parks: White Sands in New Mexico was just established in 2019. It’s gorgeous and I got to play in the sand but I’ll save those pictures for another day.

I visited the bat bridge colony in Houston, TX in 2022. The Waugh Bridge bat colony eats an estimated 3,000 pounds of insects every night! People line up at dusk to watch them come out to feed. It's fascinating! #bats

The hills outside Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, March 2001. As I am sure you will agree after looking at this picture, all the action is on the inside of the cave, not the outside!

I am back home safe and sound. I think I will stay out of the sun for awhile! Here's one last photo (for now) from last week: The world's largest pistachio! 30 feet high, this otherworldly monolith rises from the Chihuahuan Desert at McGinn's PistachioLand in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
