thread 2 Threaded Spouts
I've used #HarderAndFaster over on the dead bird for years. This is more news that confirms what I've believed and still believe that the #ClimateCrisis is happening quicker and worse than any predictions show.

On Feb. 14, 1990, spacecraft Voyager I, ever outward bound & then somewhere past Saturn, turned its camera around & snapped a photo of the place from whence it came: later immortalized by Carl Sagan as "a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam."

We've been watching Spoutible with interest over the last few months, and as much as we've been cheering it on, have not seen much in the way of growth.

For that reason (and its lack of an API), we are suspending posting on this account.

On opening the app tonight I got the message asking for consent for data sharing. I've turned off everything and now I'm getting blank white squares in my timeline. I guess that's where ads would've been and I'm now ad free 🤣 At least it proves Spoutible listens to your choices 😁

I actually noticed them, but they weren't intrusive. Would prefer not to have them, but accept they are a revenue generator for the platform. I also believe in Mr Bouzy to get it right and running tests is a good sign for that. 👍
Christopher Bouzy @cbouzy
We conducted a 2-day test with ads to see how users would respond and how well the ads blended in, and the overwhelming majority of users didn't even realize we had ads. I believe people are okay with ads as long as they are not intrusive or distracting.

For UK readers:

Change Republicans to Conservatives
Add 'Dont' before 'Vote'

Everything else matches perfectly
The USA Singers @TheUSASingers
Republicans know they’re a dwindling minority.

They know the future is woke, diverse, empathetic, and equal.

This is why they lie.
This is why they cheat.

This is why they have betrayed democracy in favor of theocratic fascism.

We must end their tyranny for good.

Vote Blue.

I found the studies quite illuminating.

Accountability and willingness to change thoughts and behaviors are complicated.
The need for the further studies almost showed what the bias of the org researchers was.

40 yrs of corp. disinfo have hurt the US deeply.

No surprise at all. In fact, I believe it's just to much for many to process. Head in the sand you might say. As the article states, more data, more widely published can tend to combat the problem of #ClimateCrisisDenial
Henning Dekant @Henning_Dekant
The pandemic proved that millions will deny the life saving effectiveness of vaccinations just to align with their world view, so why is this still supposed to be surprising?

I "inherited" some 45s from older siblings who had moved on to full length LPs. I remember belting out the Supremes' "Love Child" into my hairbrush microphone, word for word, around age 10.

Oh, I'm a master of just impersonating language. Dario Fo inspired me early on. English is tricky for me BUT I can wander about singing Schubert and it sounds like real German!

Anthem by Rush. Hadn't heard of Ayn Rand when I was 12. I have long since forgiven Neil Peart for his dalliance with that particular devil.

Since pretty much every song's lyrics fly right past me pretending to be just music the first time around (and quite often many more times), I can't even fathom trying to calculate this.

Been talking about a song with @anotherdemocrat and it got me thinking. I wonder how many of us have loved a song without knowing the true meaning behind it, then you find out some time later. Mine was Peter Gabriel's, Games without Frontiers. What was yours? Hit me with it 👍

If there was a way to attach background music to the figures, having Elvis Costello's Tramp The Dirt Down playing continually would be appropriate.
