That irritates me, too. "Hush money" makes it sound bad but also like a borderline petty offense, e.g., oh, he was hiding cheating from his wife. No. NO. It was ELECTION INTERFERENCE, the crimes were committed to help Trump con voters to acquire unearned power, and THAT sounds appropriately serious.
