NY is the one jurisdiction where the justice system has delivered consequences to Trump's enterprises. I won't say I'm optimistic, particularly with judges failing to enforce gag orders, but I don't feel hopeless either.

Republican elevation of ignorance and stupidity as qualifications for elected officials because they better represent the masses (Quayle, W, Palin, MTG) has given way too many incompetent blowhards platforms to waste our time and attention. It is a travesty that MTG's mood has real world impact.

I see the danger every time a Dem suggests electing Cheney as if she is a moderate. Her voting alignment with Trump was almost "perfect." I am grateful for her efforts to call out Jan 6 but won't ever like her or forget that she supports every non-violent assault on democracy (eg voter suppression).

I agree. They are far more pro-patriarchy than pro-fetus. I know the common claim is that they only care about a child before birth, but I don't think they ever care. They opposedl anything to improve outcomes of pregnancy, unless doing so is at the expense of a woman's freedom or dignity.

It would be great if he actually faces accountabilty and justice. I sometimes think he is more slippery than Trump. I get how TX corruption shields him from local consequences, but I wish DOJ would treat his cases with more urgency.

Right-wingers who believe that families crossing a border to escape poverty or violence deserve to be separated and to have their children caged also believe they should be exempt from punishment for felony convictions if that punishment would lead to sub-optimal child care for their own children.

Interesting that the right has no problem if doctors are uncomfortable being forced to do nothing while a patient dies from an ectopic pregnancy, is tortured by being forced to carry a nonviable pregnancy to term, etc.

On MSNBC last night, they were giving oxygen to the polls showing how SC Repubs believe the 2024 election will go. The overwhelming majority can't accurately describe how the last election went. How could anyone give credence to their ability to predict the next one?

It's only matters who the questioner is because she only wants to appear racist when pandering to racists. The most positive possible pro-Haley spin is that she is mad that she was tricked into displaying how comfortable she is promoting racism, and that still reveals how terrible a person she is.

It seems reasonable to share that voter/ consumer perceptions are disconnected from reality. It seems reasonable and valuable to highlight the disconnect between reality and perception. It is dishonest and misleading to cover up data on economic reality with inaccurate perception.

I wonder if MTG is too stupid to get the point, too self-absorbed to get the point, to contemptible to acknowledge the point, or all of the above. What an embarrassment to take a hard right stance on social policy while claiming critics of her PPP use don't understand running a small business.
