Thanks for the info. I wasn't a big Lightfoot fan. I was actually a little young (in the 1970s) for his type of music, but my older sister owned all of his albums. I do remember hearing "Sundown" on the radio all the time, though.

Trivia: Went to google to find lyrics, found out the gf is named in an article (where she's referred to as 'mistress' - was GL married at the time?). Cathy Smith, who google tells me is the same person blamed for John Belushi's overdose?? (Yes, Sundown is very well known to me, an "older" American.)

And then, after eating the peaches, I drank some coffee to cover the scent. Coffee is about the only thing my dog doesn't like. I laughed at myself, but it worked!

10 minutes ago, I wanted to eat a small container of diced peaches. I went to the sink and turned on the water so I could pull off the plastic cover and eat them without the dog hearing me!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it'll be fine. (Haven't had to do it yet.) I'm just one of those people that likes to have all the instructions in order before doing something. I was nervous at 14, but that was because my older sister was making me do it for her car.

I don't know if it could ever happen that a President could be Atheist/Agnostic, or even anything other than Christian/Catholic. I wish, but definitely not in my lifetime (I'm a bit older than you). (Though, really, there are some that lie and say they're religious, but aren't. You know who! 😉)

Agnostics are shown on one of the charts & mentioned in the article. I found this article encouraging, yet the pct of the populations aren't equal (yet!): 18% white evangelical, 6% atheist, 6% agnostic. That seems to be changing - probably more quickly than I would expect.

I'm still looking through all the REM albums and songs and dates - so many memories. I even looked up Michael Stipe's age: only 63. I thought he'd be older.

I went to check on the dates of REM albums. Yes, I owned their first album, "Murmur" in 1983! And then at least the next 6 albums after that. These were passed on to my brother. I don't know if he still owns them.

I had no idea Nanci Griffith had died. So I went searching for info. August 2021. Don't know how I missed it. I had, I think, 4 of her albums (on cassette!) - such an excellent songwriter. I found this great article while looking for info, and all the comments are worth reading, too.
