Epecially in Fulton County Jail...22 people have died there in the last year. One just last night. Jail pop is 87% black. Half have not seen a judge yet, so presumed innocent. Maybe this experience will change his world view...

Oh wow, that Great Dividing Range is huge!

It sounds very similar. The PNW is also called Cascadia, referring to the Cascade Range that stretches from northern CA to BC and plays a similar role in dividing socioeconomic status and political ideology in general.

It's cooling off nicely here. My cat Xander likes me to open my screen door at night. But there's an Irish pub around the block that has a peat fire going on their patio. I used to enjoy the aroma but after so many smoky days from wildfires this summer, my eyes start to sting. What a shame.

I consider the PNW to be WA and OR, but it's not an official designation. Others want to include Northern CA (okay, maybe the northernmost part), British Columbia (sure), and Alaska (hmm, it is on the Pacific but...). Still others want to include inland states like Idaho (no).
