For me, after ten years of atheism, I had sought one that would teach me how to love. Even from secular art and literature, I could gather that the greatest thing we humans ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.

Reminds me of Carl Jung's consistent emphasisizing of the teaching that the universe within is just as vast as the universe without. For the wisdom of man is knowing oneself. As Thomas Merton famously said, "Finally I am coming to the conclusion that my highest ambition is to be what I already am."

There is no legal or moral justification by the state of Israel in responding to the Islamic Resistanc Movement (Hamas) attack on Oct 7 with genocide. According to international law, Palestinians have the right to self-defense against Israel's settler colonial project. I advocate for nonviolence.

The greatest thing I have ever learned is just to love and be loved in return. I finally learned how to love to in Jesus. Christianity's greatest commandment is to love God and love one another. With joy now do I honor the Love that became God, believe in Christ His Son, and love neighbor as myself.

The Protestant belief of Biblical authority preceding Church authority does not make sense to me. I found this 12-minute explainer of all Christian denominations to be surprisingly fair and thorough. Emphasis on faith just to save oneself is an ego trip.

I used to believe the same. But faith is to believe what you do not see, and the reward of this faith is to see what you believe. We will find what we are looking for, and the most difficult wisdom of man is to know himself. For we do not see the world as it is, but as we are.

I reserve my strongest criticisms for my Church leaders. As a convert to Christianity and then Catholicism four years ago, my faith is anything but blind. In the heart of Jesus, I at long last found Love and life itself. I too had once judged a religion by its hypocrites.

In a healthy democracy, whistleblowers are encouraged and championed by the public. The way the US government and US public continues to treat heroic whistleblowers Edward Snowden and Julian Assange already tells a great deal about the current state of our American democracy.

I would say it's related to the US's overall global military strategy and issues at home. I personally agree that every country has a right to self-determination, which is why I support stopping the endless US wars. My leaders have endless money for more war but not for healthcare for our people.
