One of the (MANY) things about this that warms my heart is that Jared and Ivanka have more than enough $$ to bail out dad but it doesn't look like it's something they're going to do. He should have spent more time raising her instead of lusting after her.

The UK has so many problems - economic, governmental and societal.

It is amazing how many politicians and people are ignoring how many of these problems could be addressed by re-joining the EU!

It seems to me.

More harm is caused by people who think they are doing the right thing.

Than by people who know they are doing the wrong thing.

Something we all need to reflect on.

Ireland is debating its military neutrality.

I wonder how you can have neutrality without sacrificing morality? Does Ireland not want to be led by a moral compass?

Neutrality when one country is invaded by another, on a pretext, is siding with the aggressor.

Some things in life are not complex!

In response to Johann.
Agreed. The damage that his Premiership has wrought on this Country, its institutions, and its reputation is huge. It has me fearing we can't turn the tide. Right now I'll take a dialling down of the hateful rhetoric, but thats all they've got. I fear even a routing next year won't be enough 😪

The issue about Boris Johnson lying to Parliament isn’t just about Parliament.

He also lied to the British people. He lied over covid response which led to more deaths and corruption.

And he lied about Brexit.

He has undermined our economy, our democracy and our society.

His damage will linger.

I like Spoutible.

It is a good way for me to follow USA politics.

I see much less from UK/ Ireland/ other European neighbours … and rest of world.

If you are writing politics, economics and general interest comments (ex-USA) that I am missing please let me know and I will make sure to follow you.

UK exports to the EU have collapsed since Brexit.

But here is the thing that isn’t mentioned by the politicians. So has our currency!

The £ has fallen 20% against the Euro.

So our exports should be booming. The problem remains Brexit.

Britain was better before Brexit.

The solution is clear.

Britons do not have to accept being poorer. That implies there is nothing we can do.

How about rejoining the EU for a start. Right there is at least 4% growth, cleaner rivers, more food and more freedom!

Raab resigns following accusations of bullying which he denies … by issuing nasty, undermining and critical remarks towards those he bullied.

Kind of proves them right.

Self awareness is obviously not one of Raabs strong points.

Anyone surprised he now wallows in false victimhood?

CPTPP deal increases UK GDP by 0.008% pa - yet reduces food standards, harms farmers and reveals how desperate we are for any trade deal.

It’s 500x smaller than the societally better deal we had with the EU.

Interesting that Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton agreed on one thing. Not joining CPTPP!

I have been slow to this new world. I have only just started using an AI chat app. Wow!

The next revolution affecting jobs is already here and now I know why some people are ringing warning bells.

I welcome the new world, yet I also agree we need to be careful how we want this technology applied

Boris Johnson again showing his inability to take responsibility.

Apparently he didn’t know he was breaking covid rules and guidelines in No 10 because his underlings didn’t tell him. This was after he told the nation what the rules were.

In short, everybody else is to blame.

As I see the increasing evidence of our aging population, I wonder how much of our housing crisis is caused by bedroom blockers.

Elderly, asset rich couples whose children have left home. 3 or 4 bedroom houses with most bedrooms unused. In some streets it seems like 50% of houses. #demograhics

If anyone needs some good commentary to understand the madness of Brexit, I thoroughly recommend the Chris Grey blog ( it may be particularly helpful to people outside the UK).

It is insightful, researched and clearly written.

Britain had a democratic vote to join a European trading block. Then more to stay in, then a flawed vote ( based on lies) to leave.

The people who claimed the flawed vote was democracy are now having us join a harmful Asian trading block ( CPTPP) without a vote at all.

The Tory’s stole democracy

On same day junior doctors were striking for a decent salary (and leaving the profession in droves) … the chancellor announces a big tax cut for the wealthiest pensioners.

Says it is to get doctors to come off retirement.

Lies.

Imagine if he used the tax cut to improve doctor salaries ins

The UK has lost its way.

Food shortages, strikes, cruel government, sewage in rivers, inflation, growing intolerance, and a lack of respect for what made us good.

I can go on.

What shouldn’t go on is this government.

It is at the root cause of all our problems. The UK GOP.
