Don’t you dare say voting doesn’t matter. In late 2022 in a recount Kris Mayes (who announced indictments today) won her election race for #Arizona atty general by 280 VOTES.

VOTING MATTERS. Everywhere. And in every type of election. State. Local. Federal.

I grew up with shots for smallpox, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, but nothing else. I saw rooms filled with iron lungs in the newspapers. I remember beaches being closed in the summer because someone had caught polio. Rubella during pregnancy caused blindness or deafness. Get your kids vaccinated!

Today marks the beginning of #WorldImmunizationWeek

“A major landmark study to be published by The Lancet reveals that global immunization efforts have saved an estimated 154 million lives – or the equivalent of 6 lives every minute of every year – over the past 50 years.” 💛

It was quiet and sort of unspoken for a while. Never quite gone, but not out in the open. Now, it's hanging out all over. It's frightening, to be honest.

Do you honestly want trump to be the one to replace Thomas & Alito on the Supreme Court? Register and GO VOTE for the Democratic ticket.
lm law @lm

Clarence Thomas is 75.
Samuel Alito is 74.
Whoever is elected will likely appoint their successors when they retire.

Absolutely. Making the distinction between gov't and the people is so important when considering current events & history. Sometimes the people are complicit and directly involved, but not always.

In this case, the war is clearly not driven by the people.

I am disgusted beyond words with what the Israeli gov't is doing in Gaza. I'm also Jewish. You can absolutely criticize the Israeli gov't and its actions without being antisemitic. (See: the hundreds of thousands of Israelis in the streets protesting.)

BUT.
Khrissy Choate @KhrissyChoate
Judging from some replies and quote spouts I have received to my own spouts and others I’ve read lately; the not all people who criticize Israel are antisemitic crowd is becoming like the NAWP (not all white people) crowd. If you are criticizing the Israeli government for its bad deeds thru peaceful

I'm impressed; you're really jumping in. In case useful: Friedman's columns get at the current situation & how Iran & Arab countries play in - likely too recent and not the focus of the books. Atlantic articles get at how current US narratives connect (or not). Also good CNN's Amanpour's interviews

I want to inform the Spoutible community that we have been tracking certain individuals who have targeted our platform since its launch. We have been quietly collecting evidence for over a year, and in the coming weeks, we plan to take legal action against two individuals in the US.

I appreciate your question. Like lots of topics, I'd say start w/ Wikipedia. Also NYT's Thomas Friedman columns since Oct, The Atlantic on the war & antisemitism, Haaretz for self-critical Israelis' views. Even with pay walls, email gets a few free articles. Does that help? #PeaceNeedsDialogue

It's one of those things that they turn into a big issue when it isn't an issue of voter fraud at all.
It's also none of their damn business if San Francisco wants to allow legal residents to vote for its school board.

His manifesto has been found.

A LOT of conspiratorial connections about totalitarianism and crypto and our government being a kleptocracy.
It seems he's more anti- all our politicians and government (he labels "secret doomsday cult kleptocrats") and not particularly focused on the mango on trial.

As far as I can tell, Kentucky already requires all voters to be U.S. citizens in order to register.

It's political posturing.

KY is a limited home rule/Dillon's rule state. Maybe they want to prevent a city from creating its own local voter rolls for local elections? Hypocrites.
