Omg, my husband was reading me some of the warrant for the upcoming town meeting. Do you know what a “field driver” is? Or the “measurer of wood”? This is a hold over from colonial time. And NO, I don’t want to vote for the person who picks up goat shit. Abolish the damn position already.

Something I’m trying to articulate… I think Jan 6 has had a subtle effect on how we view protests. Even if we say out loud peaceful protests are fine. Some part of our collective subconscious is worried about it. Anyway it is a little hard to say what I mean exactly. Things are very disoriented?

There is a real discipline/ practice of letting go of self in good choral singing. A real trust in the group and in the conductor. It is so hard. And yet the women’s choir was getting there in rehearsal this am. Love this group.

Vivaldi Gloria dress rehearsal went well. I few things I need to clean up. I’m enjoying singing with the Altos but I miss singing with the Sopranos. I fit either parts tessitura, although alto is more of a challenge bc it stays low and I’m not used to it. Instruments were awesome.

Pro tip: use the Matzo Ball mix to make your Matzo balls. Don’t mess with making them from scratch. It isn’t worth it. This is how my mother in law taught me. The soup itself I make from scratch. Happy Passover? (It’s passover still, right?)

I have two choral performances in the next two weeks. Different repertoire. Lots of rehearsals. I get stressed about it, but it melts away when I step into the rehearsal space. I love singing with these groups and we are sounding good.
