Suppose that the former inmate is working full time (40 hrs.), he/she is being charged $6.25/hr. by the State of Florida for that prison bed now occupied by somebody else. Taking weekends into account, the victims of this scheme are being charged $8.75/hr. How are they to escape poverty?

I see stories of horrific crimes and wonder why the guy (it’s almost always a guy) thought that he could possibly get away with it. Perhaps “getting away with it” isn’t part of the mental equation. I’ve no idea.

My wine rack is full but untouched for years. Ike 🦮 has been sniffing at it for several weeks. I though that odd but didn't investigate. Today the cleaning lady advised that one of the bottles is leaking. #Dogs are amazing.

What a day! First, a voice mail stating that I owe the IRS money and that the caller can fix. (Nope, I owe ‘em zero.) Next, an email allegedly from the IRS saying that $735 is on its way to me. (Nope, I rolled over the refund & the sender doesn’t even know how to use the $ sign in USA English.)
