I'm gonna make a beef and noodle bowl with a ribeye, because I'm an adult like that.

Oh, and I'm gonna eat it out of a bowl modelled after a takeout container, because I have class.

Any servicemember who supports this forgot (or never understood) their core values.

He has no HONOR. He will not do the right thing for the right reasons, without there being a benefit for him.

He has no COURAGE: He runs away from the battle.

He has no COMMITMENT: he is loyal only to himself.

Given the current judiciary, restoring the VRA likely dies the second it is passed, unless it addresses the reasons that Roberts killed it in the first place.

Unfortunate, but true.
Annie N @AnnieN2015
Restoring the Voting Rights Act is about more than elections: When our democracy is in peril, so too are our civil rights.

We MUST have a working democracy to make progress on the important issues we care about. #RestoreTheVRA #ProtectOurVotingRights share.demcastusa.com/s/LlHxkXJyTES6…

I grew up in a conservative household too, and the one glaring thing I remembered was how little thought the GOP wanted their voters to put into voting.

We would literally get a sample ballot marked with the party preferences and a letter saying how as "good patriots" this is how we should vote.
John Bolton's Mustache™️☑️ @John_Boltons_Mustache
Here's the thing...some of us, like me, used to be Republican. I didn't notice their extremism until I switched parties. I also didn't become this political until I switched parties so their horrific and often offensive behavior still shocks me. Thank God I got out when I did.

It may have come from a movie, and not even a particularly good one, but a salient quote to live your life is: "You can tell a lot about a person's character by how they treat people they don't have to treat well."

Rule #1 of combat:

When you leave the wire, you always have a round in the chamber.

Rule #2 : When you discharge that round, you immediately load another one.

This applies no matter how large your weapon happens to be.

Joe Biden can't fire DeJoy, it's illegal.

Only the Board Of Governors can, and thanks to a certain senator who decided to block Obama's noms to woo the left, Trump was able to pack it full of loyalists until Dec 2023.

But, you know what they say - hindsight is 20/Bernie.
Mike Calimari @mikecalimari
These flats are used to mail chicks from hatcheries to farms.
When Louis DeJoy destroyed USPS sorting machines to slow mail in ballots hundreds of these flats were stranded causing the chicks to die from exposure and dehydration.
A Barometer of Joe Biden's callousness is DeJoy still has a job.

Only possible exception could be that if their crime involved them trying to commit felony election fraud.

My 10 second take on this:

Events can have dress codes.
Buildings should not.

If a senator wants to sit in their office wearing shorts and a hoodie, or yoga pants and Uggs, it shouldn't matter.

Save the dress code for CSPAN (ie the floor).
Beyond Blonde @BeyondBlonde
I've thought a lot about the recent change in dress code in Congress and still have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand I appreciate the idea of dressing for the job. On the other hand how many times have men in suits royally screwed us over?

Fun Fact:

100% of rules that nonvoters in America complain about were decided for them by voters, and the people they elected.

If you don't vote, or throw your vote away by voting 3rd party in a 2 party system - you're abdicating your freedoms and quality of life to those who did vote.
Brian Karem @BrianKarem
Every single time I hear someone bitch about government I ask, "Do you vote."
I am still amazed at the large number who say "NO" and justify their inaction as a form of civic pride.

Just vote people. Just vote.

My hot take is that he'll milk the rubes for all of the donations they're worth, and when that well runs dry and the GOP is well and truly fucked, he'll trade the recorded conversations at MAL for a plea deal.

Narcissists record EVERYTHING. It's how they maintain power.
Rick @rick00979
Anyone with common sense who was facing the kind of evidence against them as Trump is, would be begging for a plea deal.

I know people dont want to take tests they don't need or can afford to buy, but the more demand we show for these programs, the more likely the govt is to keep funding them.

So if you can afford them, maybe wait a few days after launch to order them, that way the people who can't get first chance.

On this note folks, a friendly reminder:

If you keep your proximity key in your house enough to your car where you can unlock the doors, it's close enough to where a thief can clone it from the street and drive off with your car.

MOVE YOUR PROX KEY AWAY FROM YOUR FRONT DOOR.
Anthony LaCapruccia @freakinbox
We should probably take note that automakers are moving away from security features like an actual key...

While security experts with computers are moving toward having a physical key...

Expect auto theft to get worse... it's a sales tactic, clearly.

In 1890, the X and Y chromosomes were discovered. It was found that the men who were tested had 46 chromosomes, including an X and a Y, while women who were tested also had 46 chromosomes, including 2 X chromosomes.

Sadly, this is true.

We can only hope that

a) people come to their senses
b) the virus selectively mutates either to become nonpathogenic, or mutates to become more "ideal", meaning high transmittabiltiy and low lethality.

B is more likely, unfortunately.

Actually, I see the benefit to this.

A drone can provide them with ACTUAL data, not karenisms that end up resulting in a stronger than necessary initial response.

Part of the problem of our police system is dispatchers have to take 911 calls at face value.

This mitigates that.
