Full disclosure: I have never blocked or muted anyone on Spoutible and I still won't.
One reason is that I have the habit of simply ignoring statements that are offensive or disagreeable.
Another is that if a person actually apologizes for a big mistake made in a spout, I can still see it. 🙂

FWIW abt chili origins biologists learned that chili peppers have been around for 10-50M yrs in the "Americas" & that's a long time for family chili recipes to be passed from generation to generation w or w/o available meat, beans, chicos, camote etc
