Thinking a bit more about it, the media (in the UK) at least has done a really good job of demonising the term 'socialism'. Jeremy Corbyn is used even now as the boogeyman of 'back to socialism in the 1970s' even though many of his policies were not that. He just looked the part.

As a perspective from Europe, those things are associated with political parties across the spectrum to varying degrees. Europe is much more populist and right wing now but citizens generally expect that stuff regardless of who they vote for. It's not considered socialism per se.

It does depend how much R&D money went into it but if it can avoid lengthy and expensive treatments, the cost savings to healthcare systems can be significant and the patients can get back to being economically active, which is great for everybody.

It's mad. All my previous ones have had an absolute death wish and I clearly transgressed one of the many many things they don't like. I neglected this one in a corner as well expecting it to die and it just stayed. Now that I am paying attention, let's see if it gets all 'allergic' again.
