While the companies responsible for the door plug that blew out of a plane in mid-air last week were cutting corners, outsourcing manufacturing, laying off employees, and working to evade expensive safety upgrades, they paid their top executives $817 million...

ICYMI: Here's the Wired article featuring Chris Bouzy and Spoutible, which includes many behind-the-scenes details many of us haven't known before.

It's a long read and I haven't finished it all yet myself, so feel free to bookmark it and come back later as you have time.

The general public, for hundreds of years, have fallen under the ridiculous notion that the president of the United States, doesn't matter who, is the most powerful person in the world; capable of literally everything.

And that's a lie.

Yes Liz, they all expect him to Harry Potter this shit.
Liz N Is Not Your Mule @knitquiltsewst1
Did President Joseph Robinette Biden become Emperor of the World while I wasn't looking?

Because how else is he, on his own, gonna stop two other countries from fighting with each other?

Wizard magic?

President Biden has out performed all the loudest of the fauxgressives—demonstrating his progressiveness, so they decided to protest that he’s not doing enough running another country 🤷🏻‍♂️

1. Bankers lobby for deregulation.

2. Politicians deregulate bank.

3. Bank collapses due to lack of regulation.

Wall Street Journal: This is clearly the fault of non-white males.

WSJ screaming the quiet part loud & going full blown white supremacy. Absurd.

This is just wrong. If you can't take a stand against Nazis, you have no ethical standing at all. Hate & bigotry should be stamped out, not given a platform in the name of "free speech" (i.e. making a buck). Hope this hurts rather than helps their bottom line, because they deserve a boycott.
Martini C @FeelingGood2023
“I just want to make it clear that we don’t like Nazis either — we wish no one held those views,” Hamish McKenzie, a co-founder of Substack, said in a statement. “But some people do hold those and other extreme views.

I don't think you're following a "moral code". You are reveling in your own ignorance of the Middle East situation and how your own government functions. Sorry.

I’m only 72, and I voted for McGovern, Carter, Anderson (where I learned not to vote 3rd Party), Mondale, Clinton x2, Gore, Kerry, Obama x2, Clinton, and Biden. The 26th amendment (18 year olds voting) passed in 1971; you could have voted for Reagan (not saying you did!) in 1984.

My father worked in the Reagan administration. I have pictures of him with Reagan. My father was a proud RINO who voted for Obama twice, Hillary Clinton, and his last vote ever for President Biden.

I sent this my clown of a GOP rep:

To commemorate your impeachment vote today, I made a donation to President Biden's re-election campaign. Rest assured I will make further donations to him for every further ludicrous impeachment step you and your filthy, corrupt party make.

Feel free to borrow😃

I've said it twice tonight and I'll say it again for the dullards in back: Not voting in 2024, or voting for some purist panacea other than Joe Biden, is not cutting off your nose to spite your face. It's cutting off your head and begging Donald Trump and Stephen Miller to shit down your neck.

I’ve received your unsolicited DM and see you’ve been here mere hours and have already followed 150 women.

That’s predatory.

Perhaps I’ve judged you incorrectly.

Have you popped into my DM’s to discuss my recent post on castration?

Same here. I was going to report, but, as creepy and unwanted as it is, I didn't think a dude sliding into my DMs with "hello" actually violated any TOS so I just blocked instead but I am enthusiastically here for the public call-out of this man, others like him, and this bullshit behavior.

In response to Spry Lorax.
Baldwin's 1960s perspective was necessarily one of self-defense.
A 21st Century ethical perspective might be:
"We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in the oppression of others and the denial of their humanity and their right to exist."
We can't debate hate.
