Serendipity strikes! While driving from Djirikartup to Perth today I listened to ABC Australia radio and the fantastic Conversations broadcast. The guest was a scientist researching slime mould - learnt it’s a single cell with multiple nuclei and functions as a sort of hive mind but without a brain!

The block at the front looks like it has broken off and rotated before coming to rest. Where the rock is in situ, does it look like the photos in this reference?

Doubly so because this part of the world is a biodiversity hotspot. We need to look after what remains and this makes it harder.

Noooooooooo!
Mine was originally in a glass with plastic wrap on top. I invested in an official-looking starter jar with a wooden lid. Bought one for my son too.
I told my husband he would be dead meat if the jar and contents ever went missing. Just joking - or maybe not!!

All the best! I’m experimenting as I go. The results are getting better, with the occasional dodgy loaf but even they still taste pretty good 🤤

I didn’t really have a choice! My son gave me half his starter plus some basic equipment, and asked me to keep it going in case something happened to his 😬
I like that the starter has wild yeast from inter-generational grape sources.
Best wishes for your sourdough adventures 😁

I looked it up. Apparently the greater yellowlegs is also known as the Chevalier Criard, which is French for screaming knight. Possibly a bit over the top for what looks like a demure bird, but much more dramatic!
I’d go with bright-eyed ornate wonder bird 😁

I don’t normally comment on US politics but it is clear that Trump has more than a few kangaroos loose in the top paddock - they’re in plague proportions. I find it incredible that some US citizens consider him a suitable candidate to lead their country. 🤷‍♀️

I’m from Western Australia and don’t trust any map that misspells Fremantle!
Western Australia is large and diverse so comparing to a single US state and proposing equivalence is drawing a very long bow.
Also, all Tasmanians are Australians but not all Australians are Tasmanians.
