My elderly Mom passed in June. I've spent hours on the phone with customer service folks closing out her ccs, accts, subscriptions, etc. All I spoke to seemed discreetly surprised at my civility, that I was kind. These folks work hard, often get the brunt of our complaints. Be kind, be civil.

Earlier this month, the migrants that Ron DeSantis transported to Martha's Vineyard gathered on the Vineyard again for a reunion. It was a festive gathering of people thankful for the support that they had received from the community a year ago.

One year later…#Buffalo. 10 human beings, several of them elders in the Black community 🖤. Gunned down by a White man so enraged by lies about what he’s “losing,” so indoctrinated to an ideology of White Supremacy. A vessel for violence who never should have been armed.

Spoutible reminds me of Obama’s 1st election. None of us thought he’d really succeed but we all put in the legwork. And we worked hard. Really hard. I remember when we all realized Barack Obama won. It was a combination of utter joy & total shock.
