We use reusable shopping bags, we recycle plastics, cans, glass, and paper, and we use Brita pitchers for drinking water in lieu of bottled water.
2 Brita pitchers, used for filtering drinking water, instead of buying bottled water.

I had sown miniature clover seeds to provide a bee friendly ground cover. Sadly, what grew was the finest crop of Chickweed I’ve ever seen. Invasive #Weed , tangled web of roots, reseeds multiple times a season. Aaaaagggghhh
Time to chat with the clover seed company.
In a well prepared bed, I had planted micro clover seeds, to provide a bee friendly ground cover. What grew instead was a fine crop of Chickweed, an invasive, spreading, self seeding weed, with a tangled mass of spreading roots. Dark green with tiny white daisy like flowers, it gives off a pleasant fresh scent when you pull the little devils up.

Text in the border reads U.S. Naval Station, Adak, Alaska, Birthplace of the Winds. A combined Naval Air and regular Navy base, they were there to oversight foreign activities in the North Pacific.

It got a bit #Tense today when the arborist was working about 30’ up trimming this pine tree, in a light rain. We, and probably he, didn’t relax till he successfully topped the tree. The pic is at the moment the top ~12’ came free.
An arborist, about 30 feet up in a pine tree, is working with a chainsaw to cut free the top 12 or so feet. Another tree reaches up next to him, with some shorter trees below. The sky is white and gray with rain clouds.

He was determined to make it to the State competition, & hoping for National. He was heartbroken when Covid shut everything down.
