FYI for fellow straight white Cis people: I can't just declare myself an ally - that's something only members of the groups I support and defend can decide about me. And, if granted, that allyship can be revoked the moment I do, say, or advocate things that harm them.

1/2 Foundation of our criminal justice system is built on white supremacy. Police departments evolved from slave patrols. Black folks make up 13% of total USA population but account for 37% of total prison population. Hispanics make up 20% of USA population but account for 30% of prison pop.

The sea was a bit angry today. Waves crashing over the Canso Causeway when I was heading back to Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia this afternoon after a trip to Antigonish. Some water starting to pool on the road in spots. I've seen it a lot worse; rocks getting thrown into the car, etc.
