I know people personally who say, "what's the big deal." Hush money was a personal thing between Trump and his wife. When it's framed as "hush money" people don't get the gravity. At base this was about winning the election.

Good move. He's still playing games. The Court of Appeals gave him a break reducing the bond, and he proceeded to sh*t on them playing games. His play would have left the people to have to chase after the money. The backing was full of escape hatches for him.
