The idea that one Senator can block anything is a sign of the total corruption of democracy as is the filibuster. In a democracy, even a representative democracy, the tail should not be allowed to wag the dog. See, also, one Senator who can block SCOTUS nominees from getting a hearing.

The only thing that exceeds the GOP's hatred of Blacks and women is its hatred of paying its fair share, so Harlan Crow and Clarence Thomas are nothing new. Rules don't apply to Republicans.

After I retired, I started volunteering a my local library. A casual job came open and I started working there. I was there for a few years. I am here to say that libraries are so important to communities. Many families depend on them for computer & internet, free programs for their kids, etc.
