WHAT YOU CAN DO TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM COVID and other viruses:

1. Respirator masks, minimum. KN95, N95, N99. Wear them every time you leave your house. Do not take them off in any building or near crowds of people.

High concentrations of #SARSCoV2 detected at all 14 NYC wastewater plants. If you live in NYC & have noticed more people w/ "common cold" symptoms, it might really be due to rising #COVID rates

Biden requested $37B in add'l federal spending for police. This year, he agreed to cut $28B in public health grants that are absolutely essential (& insufficient) for rebuilding a massively defunded national public health system.
Don't tell me "a vote for Biden is a vote against fascism"; it's not.

From Kyle Griffin: Save the date: Adding to Trump's cluttered calendar, a Wisconsin judge has set a Sept. 3, 2024 start date — just two months before Election Day — for the jury trial in the lawsuit seeking $2.4 million in damages from Wisconsin's fake Republicans electors.

Attorney General Ken Paxton called several lawmakers and threatened them with political consequences if they voted for his impeachment, according to state Rep. Charlie Geren. Yeah, that'll help... :eyeroll:

The TX GOP *really* didn't want to be in the Fed's crosshairs over this. It's the ONLY reason they finally took action: to save their own corrupt butts!

Tall Bearded Iris, "Alcazar", bred in France in 1908 by Vilmorin; introduced in theVilmorin-Andrieu & Cie, catalogue de plantes 1918 - during WW1!

That means that my two earliest irises are both French in origin. Here's Sans Souci, introduced 1854:

Anyone good at iris identification?? I've got me a mystery. Iris was here when we bought the house.
It was here w/ another iris, heirloom Sans Souci.
Base of foliage on Mystery Iris is NOT purple. Runs between 26-30" tall depending on how much rain we get and when. Rhizomes. Looks like a neglecta?

If you're looking for ancient/GMO-free grains, or unusual heirloom legumes for your home garden, bookmark these folks: https://greatlakesstaplese...

I just discovered them today while on a late hunt for hullless oats after my last order from overseas didn't materialize. Lots of GF grains too.

Sackett v EPA - by Justice Alito - writing for 5 Justices, they reject EPA's authority to regulate wetlands with a "significant nexus" to navigable waters - the waters must have a continuous surface connection to navigable waters

Well this is going to screw over several states w/ inland wetlands

Ok, Ocean Frens - I'm not normally a "see a gadget must buy it" sort of person, but here's the thing:
I'm young, I have arthritis in my hands, and I love to garden. I also love functioning at the end of the day.
So I look for tools to ease my workload.
