I see a lot of people perpetuating these myths, including library folx. Please stop. Perpetuating these myths about book bans and censorship is not helping fight censorship.

Honestly, 90% of the sexual content policy drama seems to boil down to context collapse and different bubbles talking past each other.

Which is an inevitable milestone if one seeks to become a true Twitter replacement so… Congratulations to us? 😆

Here's my prediction. They couldn't kill all the non-paying accounts at once because Twitter would have been dead overnight. So what they're going to do is chip away at non-paying accounts until they pay up or leave (but slow enough not to kill the platform).

But here's this FYI for you:

Has anyone else had the issue of accidentally making new Spouts when you intended to reply to someone else’s, or am I just stupid? 😅

In response to Zinnia Z.
This platform has been delightfully devoid of right-wing nonsense thus far, and I would also love for it to succeed, but it has been very disappointing to see respected authors and reviewers treated as trolls for raising concerns about moderation policies.

The responses to the concerns about Spoutible’s content policy are evenly split between “OBVIOUSLY romance authors aren’t in violation, quit being hysterical” and “We don’t want smut-peddlers here, get your own app!” The policy is so vague even its defenders can’t agree on what it means.

Courtney Milan and Olivia Waite's questions about this site's TOS are valid. I would love to feel comfortable posting snippets of my work or discussing scenes where intimacy is a significant factor in moving a story forward.

It is honestly crazy how much engagement there is on Spout. I almost believe this will be the site to take off for real

On a lark I went and looked at my tweet linking to my blog post about AI and I looked at my spout here -- exact same text, exact image, exact link.

Twitter, I got 49 retweets. Spoutible, I got 40 echoes/respouts/wtfever they're called.

On Twitter, I have over 100x more followers than I do here

It's on the list of fixes. I get annoyed with this as well! Hopefully, we can release another update over the weekend.

I love finding a used book for sale with library binding

I always feel like I have come into possession of a forbidden tome

I have largely let go of the grammar hangups I had as an obnoxious nerdy kid in 2010, but I still feel disgraced every time my phone autocorrects possessive “its” to “it’s” and I don’t catch it.

I do like that this is basically Twitter with a whale on it. As someone who dislikes change and likes whales.
