What happened in 2020? Why the spike in book bans?

Lol. Jimmy Greene, president of the Republican-aligned Associated Builders and Contractors of Michigan, thinks MI Dems will face voter backlash for moving too fast: "They're reflecting on 40 years in the [political] desert, and instead of sipping from the oasis, they're gulping.”

Holy smokes. This GOP state rep made absolutely vile comments to 2 female legislative interns about him imagining the pair engaging in sexual acts. The rep and one of the interns had apartments in the same building, so the legislature paid to relocate her to a hotel for the rest of her internship.

Poking around on the dying bird, and saw this post.

I feel as though the Museum of Natural History may be low-key referencing us.

Thoughts?

Time for the Michigan legislature to pass bills to ban child marriage, which Dems recently introduced!
Zeketayler @Zeketayler
You’d think this would be a no-brainer for every state in America, but for some reason most Republicans want to leave adolescent pregnancy on the table.

Smh. I bet he's the same kind of senator who would show up to session with a Confederate flag mask like a certain Michigan senator we all know.

Except since conservatives are snowflakes about masks, he'd probably be wearing a Confederate tie.

An Ohio GOP Senate candidate calls for reparations for white people: “You know, when they talk about reparations, where are the reparations for the people in the North who died to save the lives of Black people?”

What an insult. And here in Michigan, families and survivors of the MSU and Oxford shootings were the very first to provide testimony at the committee hearings on gun bills. What a different a Democratic majority makes.
Joaquin Castro @Joaquincastrotx
The families of children killed in Uvalde and Santa Fe had to wait more than 12 hours to speak on a common-sense gun bill.

How many kids need to die before our state leaders will do the right thing?

Dan Patrick and Greg Abbott don’t have a tenth of the courage these families have shown.
