Yes, no one should be harassed just going about their business. But understand, a large portion of the anti genocide protesters are Jewish students who are upholding a great tradition of standing up for justice like in the civil rights era, something the media is bad at reporting.

My issue with "Zionism" is where they put Israel. My mother was ethnically cleansed from northern Palestine and no one had a "right" to do that. I'm good with a Jewish ethno state in the best part of Germany, but not at the expense of my family and people, or a permanent 2nd class citizenship.

Police arrested anti genocide Jewish students holding a Seder. As far as I've seen those were the students actually being intimidated. I've also seen a lot of videos where pro genocide students calling the police like Central Park Karen claiming to be in danger while they weren't.

The Israeli excuse of bringing it down on the Palestinians is a classic abusive partner's "look what you made me do!" excuse. Hamas is a symptom of the occupation and siege and there will be another Hamas by another name if occupation continues. Israel has Palestinian hostages and Hamas wants them.
