One of my weird little hobbies is unearthing YouTube comments that make me tear up. Gonna use this account to occasionally share some favorites. This one's from the audio track for Orbital's "The Girl with the Sun in Her Head" (mid '90s?).

A terrific feat of investigative journalism here, looking into how the hand-sanitizer bonanza of 2020 ended up harming some vulnerable communities.

As someone who randomly thinks "I hope Meg White's doing okay" at least once per week, this story was supremely up-my-alley. (Spoiler alert: The reporter does not, in fact, speak to Meg White.)

I feel like not enough people are paying attention to the utter weirdness of Antonio Brown's stewardship of Albany's arena football team—something that I experienced firsthand over the weekend!

Too much great journalism slips through the cracks because it's published on lesser-known platforms. This story is a case in point: A rich and nuanced profile of a 25-year-old tribal chief who's using his scientific chops to protect his ancestral lands.

This is my neck of the woods, and nothing about the chicanery surprises me. There's been strong anti-migrant currents in the air here for weeks—some rooted in ye olde antipathy toward NYC, some due to routine (albeit depressing) grandstanding by local politicians.

Okay, need some parenting advice from my fellow spouters: Any recs on TV shows to watch with my 10-year-old daughter? We've done all the "Star Wars" & Marvel series, and we recently loved "Secrets of Sulphur Springs." She's thinking "Death Note" next, but I'm worried it'll be a bit beyond her. Help?

When, in coming weeks, you see the argument "times have changed," the answer is YES. How we get jobs has changed. What mid/lower level writers get paid has changed. How long between jobs has changed. What HASN'T changed: PROFITS, which have gone up.

That's why we're striking.

I'm supposed to be annotating a draft, but instead I'm watching videos of Alexander Skarsgård riling up the Hammarby ultras. The human mind works in mysterious ways.

This is a really gripping story about an odious fraud. Crazy how many imposters walk among us, wrecking lives to feed their narcissism.

Something so satisfying about pulling up a really extraterrestrial-looking dandelion and getting the whole root in one go. Like swishing a half-court three.
