In bad times, the election is your chance to make things better.
In good times, the election is your chance to keep things good, possibly make them better, and prevent bad things from occuring.
Elections should be seen as a part of life, not an inconvenience from it.

Conventional wisdom is that we'll have a Biden-Trump rematch in 2024 and one of them will serve 4 more years. It feels like something unforseen is bound to happen. I predict that someone else will be POTUS before 2028.

Are there distinct West Coast and East Coast USA accents? I sometimes see that referenced in writings, but I can't tell a difference. Native New York, Boston, sure. And southern. Upper midwest. But generic bicoastal is the same thing in LA, the Bay, Seattle, DC, or non natives in NY and Boston.

If Israel does invade Gaza, it will be a bloody quagmire of epic proportions. The US current position of supporting Ukraine and Israel equally in protracted wars (and remaining ready to support Taiwan and deter China) is untenable. Putin gains from any escalation of the Israel-Palestine conflict.
