I see someone do something. It was unkind, or inconsiderate, or just plain mean or stupid. I start to react. My brain reminds me of times I've done the Exact Same Thing. I try to forgive. If possible, I speak to them (PRIVATELY) to explain what happened and what I thought. Maybe it helps?

Given: you can't NOT think about something. You have to think about something ELSE.

Corollary: you can't NOT make a joke about something. You CAN say "I'm not making a joke about that." Repeatedly. Snarkily. LOUDLY. Into the face of the would-be joke target or subject. :|

I am so used to the (very poor) coding behind business websites, that when something doesn't work - I immediately switch to a different browser and try again. DDG fail? Try Firefox. Fail there? Safari or Chrome. Annoying.

Bothsiderisms are almost universally incorrect - since facts, taken in the appropriate context, almost always define strong/weak positions or right/wrong scenarios. There are NOT two strong sides or two right decisions - and to think so is missing some context.

How upsetting it is when my Apple devices don't work together correctly is a testament to the fact that such behavior is not normal. Hours of updates and configuration changes to get my new watch to stop randomly locking itself and requiring password entry? UGH! *sigh

ChatJePete, please generate a mediocre joke about ignorant right wing extremists' anger at the setting of a holiday (using a thousands years old formula) on a date *obviously* specifically to trigger a modern political talking point debate. kthxby

The TikTok "ban" legislation discussion has overtaken the conversation in a few of my groups. While a merge of complex topics, my headline is: I support the legislation as our next move.

ugh. iMessage contact update fail. Accidentally wrote over the embarrassing pic of my friend that I love (and he hates) so now I have to go find the source pic, re-crop and attach it to his profile. that'll teach me to accept his updated number and surname spelling. dangit.

I have listened to SCOTUS oral arguments for years and probably hear them differently than a new observer. This morning I heard a number of holes in Colorado's disqualification of Trump from the ballot.

Somewhat of a cognitive dissonance - I admire PersonX but they are doing something that I disdain. Not sure if forgiveness in this situation violates my integrity. hmmm.

I realize they invented the language, yet I am still impressed (regularly) with the ability of certain Brits to poke fun at or fully deflate another person with a short, clear expression of clever English. Just Yes.

While admittedly RIDICULOUSLY easy to take what Nancy was saying on the Sunday AM circuit out of context, I am still dismayed by attacks that THAT was whacko conspiracy theory but pizza pedo rings wasn't? Really? REALLY?

From the Bush-Gore contest to the last year of Obama's tenure, Jon Stewart became a singular authoritative voice filtering and presenting the news, yet felt betrayed by "real newsman" who failed to investigate and inform. His return might help us avoid misinformation in the coming election.

So far, I have proof I learned to walk sideways, that my sister and I did oddly leap frog each other in height as we grew, and that we used to "swim" in our large wheelbarrow lined with plastic and filled with water. #theSuper8archive

Posted in three different forums asking if someone wanted Mom's Super8 home movies I'm digitizing and the two lone replies both asked for copies of the digital movies. No, thanks, this is about repurposing the physical media not getting my cute 5yo mug into your art project. *sigh

I'm not ready to move to St Paul, but I have to admit I think it's rad that it is now the largest American city with an all-female, primarily non-white, entirely millennial City Council. All 7 members are from careers or backgrounds that are not traditional starts for politics. #bethechange

Think the maxim "choose two: good, cheap, and fast". Done well but not cost a fortune? That'll take time. I inherited a box of Super8 movies from Mom. Online estimate $1600 to transfer: DECLINE. For $200 got a digitizer, so for (20?) minutes per day I'll have all her home movies in a few weeks.

To orbit a planet, you just have to go so fast that you constantly miss it falling into it - not so fast that you break free of its gravity, but fast enough that it curves away before you get there. To land, you just slow down and sink, then let the atmosphere friction burn you like a shooting star.
