Halo-Halo means mixed or mix-mix in Tagalog and is a yummy, refreshing, colorful Filipino dessert. Describes me well as a gal of mixed heritages, professional statuses, and interests. Spouts and echoes are my own, not of my University employer. Neither are they endorsements.

An early morning Luna moth. Typical wingspan 4.5 inches, with very brief adult lifespans (7-10 days), and nocturnal flight. I have been very lucky to see a number of Luna moths over the past 8 to 10 years.

Disability does not always mean "disabled." Disabled tends to be a legal definition, not a physical one. We've come up with all sorts of pejorative terms for people who don't meet the "standards" we set for human beings, standards which only exist to perpetuate the dominance of white "culture."
