I’ve never seen someone say “As long as they’re the best person for the job” in reference to a white man getting promoted/appointed/hired.

This constant rhetorical undercutting at the success of underrepresented/marginalized folks is a tool used by oppressors to keep others down. Happens too often.

Dear Spoutible users, When I decided to launch Spoutible, it was born out of a deep-seated need to provide a secure and nurturing space for marginalized communities. For two decades, social media platforms have consistently failed to protect us, leaving Black women to endure racist slurs and LGBTQ+ individuals feeling the need to self-censor due to fear of backlash. I wanted to create a space where individuals could truly be themselves. However, I found that current alternatives were lacking in their ability to address the issues that make social media a daily battle for marginalized individuals. More of the same was not going to solve the problem.
