33rd Game Finished of 2024 - Indika (2024)

The weird mundane gameplay mixed with elements of the surreal deliver a wonderfully weird game exploring and confronting faith. It won’t click for everyone but if it did for me and I found it a delightful treat.

32nd Game Finished of 2024 - The Lamplighters League (2023)

There’s a lot to like about this one, the characters are great, the setting interesting, and Xcom gameplay is a neat spin, but the stealth heavy focus with bad stealth just makes this an ambitious failure.

31st Game Finished of 2024 - Tales of Kenzera: Zau (2024)

Decent enough Metroid type game with a fun combat mechanic and some good, fun platforming sections. The emotional story though elevates it above other decent enough games landing its core narrative quite well.

Movie 18 of 2024 - The Strangers Chapter One (2024)

The Strangers movies are always creepy and tense and this new one hits those same marks. There’s some world building that I don’t like here (and I think the mid credits scene is goofy) but overall it does its job well.

Movie 17 of 2024 - Late Night With The Devil (2024)

Absolutely wonderful. Feels like a late night television show in the late 70s/early 80s and the crazy ramps up just right that when the ending hits, it hits hard.

Indika is a wild game. Just absolute nutso level storytelling with extremely weird mundane gameplay occasionally mixed in. I'm kinda loving it.

Got my tickets to the Ghost concert film. They had to add extra shows, in bigger screenings because the initial time slots sold out.

Movie 16 of 2024 - Unfrosted (2024)

Seinfeld and his celebrity friends deliver a comedic snooze fest. There’s a couple moments that made me briefly chuckle but it’s mostly devoid of laughs. I’m honestly not sure what they were going for here.

30th Game Finished of 2024 - Brotato (2023)

If you are looking for something like Vampire Survivors, Brotato gets the job done. It’s a perfectly fine time waster. I just wish the environments were varied a bit.

Movie 15 of 2024 - Poor Things (2023)

What a wonderfully weird film. Stone and Ruffalo deliver great, quirky, and often phenomenally funny performances on fantastical sets. And furious jumping is just a hysterically perfect phrase.

29th Game Finished of 2024 - Evil West (2022)

My 2024 infatuation with vampires continued with this wildly goofy linear action game where you punch vampires with an electric gauntlet. I wasn’t a fan of the difficulty spike in the last three levels but did quite enjoy it overall.

thread 2 Threaded Spouts
Consistently reminded that most people don’t understand how anything in business works.

Every Square Enix project on a base level requires millions of dollars in investment, even something as “simple” as what they’re saying should be made.

After about 8 hours and some hoop jumping I don’t have to do on my PC, I’ve set up my Steam Deck for emulation. Currently set up for NES, SNES, GB/GBA, GCN, PSX, PS2, and Switch (to play BotW with the durability mod).

Movie 14 of 2024 - Frankenhooker (1990)

Absolutely absurd horror comedy that is weirdly charming for most of it. I think once Elisabeth comes back and wanders NYC, it loses a bit of steam but the ending delivers a goofy satisfaction.

Movie 13 of 2024 - Abigail (2024)

The cast is lovable and hits their archetypes perfectly and its occasional moments of levity make this a wonderfully fun vampire flick that goes exactly how you expect but with a few fun twists tossed in.

Played about an hour of Tales of Kenzera: Zau and it’s pretty solid. The mask mechanic for offense is a nice twist that hasn’t been overused in the genre and platforming is decent. There’s a couple bugs with movement that I’m not a fan of but they haven’t killed me so it’s fine.

Movie 12 of 2024 - Civil War (2024)

It’s well acted, well directed, and well shot and it’s also just kinda ehh… whatever. It has a few moments and provides something to think about but for a film called Civil War (and set in the US), I felt it just kinda lacks any edge.

28th Game Finished of 2024 - Final Fantasy VI (1994 via Pixel Remaster 2022)

After multiple attempts over the years, I’ve finally finished it and while I like it, it’s not the absolute masterpiece I’ve been led to believe. Might do a full write up soonish to explain in detail.

I’m not sure who needs to hear this but it’s not antisemitic to criticize Israel or American support of Israel. And calling for a ceasefire is not supporting terrorism.

I’ve spent a lot of time in hospitals. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this and in the pediatric ward no less. Shits getting wild out here and people are on their last straw. It’s no excuse for assaulting a healthcare worker but I get the frustration with well, everything.

27th Game Finished of 2024 - Jurassic Park Arcade (2015)

Played through this with a friend at a Dave & Buster’s and while I think it’s fundamentally flawed (weird end level fail states and a brutal vibration on heavy turret controllers), it’s fun shooting dinos.

A client sends me a link to access their vendor registration page at 2AM. They send a follow up at 8AM to see if I’ve accessed it yet.

Y’all need to relax, I’ve not even had a cup of coffee yet.

26th Game Finished of 2024 - Princess Peach Showtime! (2024)

Cute, charming, low impact game that offers more than it seems from surface level. It’s likely not to satisfy a lot of people but if you can vibe with what it’s offering, it’s a cheery delight.

25th Game Finished of 2024 - SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech (2019)

I’m not much of a card game player but if they are mostly like this I might play more. The story leaves quite a bit to be desired but the deck building and card based combat are quite enjoyable.

Wild to me that the stadium does not have the camera feed on the concourse televisions. I’m getting food and trying to thaw out and I’m likely going to miss this whole match. #WrestleManiaXL

I love stadium traffic. It’s great really… nothing quite sitting in a non-moving line where someone ahead is hotboxing and you can’t tell if cars are moving ahead of him or if he’s just holding up 40 cars because he’s too stoned to move.
