Spent the day in ER. Doctors were trying to decide if I had a stroke or Bell’s Palsy. Determined it was Bell’s Palsy. Yay for me! Droopy smile and eye. Having to re-learn using a straw without sounding like a hippo blowing bubbles.

Update on my pepper plants. Should be able to make smoked paprika in a couple of weeks. And the two plants on the end: Clorisita (spider plant) risen from the almost dead again as is her wont, and Agnes (asparagus fern) a hardy little thing.

I’ve received both skeins of yarn for weaving my birthday scarf. The dark yarn which came from York, England is for the warp; the other sparkly yarn is for the weft. I’m calling the scarf “Across the Universe”. Yes, I name my scarves. Can’t wait for September! #weaving

While digging in my ancient recipe box where I kept recipes on Rolodex cards 40 years ago, I ran across my Rice Casserole. Updated it today to cook in an Instant Pot. Worked great & cooked in 3 mins. and stood for 10 mins. The old way took an hr+. I’ll have to see if any other recipes need updating.

Taking a break to make pimento cheese sandwiches. I’ve never made it before, but found a recipe I typed out 40 years ago. I checked other pimento cheese recipes, but all called for mayo & cheddar. Yuck. Mama’s didn’t have all that. So American cheese, pimentos, sweet pickles, and Miracle Whip. Yum!
