The amount of pressure people, especially women, have from early childhood on to conform to body standards is massive & harmful, & embedded in every aspect of culture. Everyone knows this...yet we perpetuate it & blame people for not having thicker skins instead of consciously changing our behavior.

Apart from those reasons, she does this cuz she's sick of people seeing her & saying "Good for you" – subtly implying she needs to lose weight.
