The U.S. Dept. of Ed has released regulations to better protect LGBTQ students, sexual violence survivors, & others against discrimination in schools. Regulations on the inclusion of trans, nonbinary, & intersex students in school sports, however, are still pending.

A new study of #LGBTQ parents found that two-thirds of the participants—and especially trans parents—said their children experienced structural and/or interpersonal stigma at school. The parents, however, shared a variety of proactive and reactive ways they worked to prevent or offset such stigma.

Judge Melissa DuBose was confirmed as a federal judge for the District of RI, making her the state’s 1st Black & 1st out #LGBTQ federal judge, and marking the 100th time a Black woman was confirmed to a lifetime federal judiciary appointment. She and her partner of over 20 years have two sons.

Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay/LGBTQ” law has been defanged. More than a dozen FL parents, students, & teachers, plus #LGBTQ orgs Equality Florida & Family Equality, who had challenged the law’s constitutionality, reached a settlement that removes the most harmful, anti-LGBTQ aspects of the legislation.
