Another in an increasingly erratic posting series. Anchored in Winter Cove, Saturna Island, wondering if there is something we should know about all that stuff in the sky.

A normally crowded harbour, in the off-season. It's nice to be able to take the boat out for an overnight. Princess Bay on Portland Island, a great hike an hour from our home dock. October, but warm. The dinghy dock has been removed for the winter and the ramp is raised.

Another part of a series, what I call "water totems". This is Melanie Cove, part of Prideaux Haven. It's a sanctuary.

Part of a series, at irregular intervals. Princess Louisa Inlet, on the BC mainland coast. Your heartbeat slows as soon as you enter through the rapids.

There are 120 guns per 100 people in the US

There are 34.7 guns per 100 people in Canada

The US has had more mass shootings in March than Canada has had since 2000.

4 times the guns. Way way more than 4x the mass shootings.

Maybe it’s not the just the guns. Maybe it’s the Americans
dani @danismashingit
It’s the guns, but it’s also your constitution. Or rather, the modern interpretation of the constitution.

It's not antifa or blm..
It's not hunter biden's laptop..
It's not masks...

It is the guns.

Another favourite anchorage, and a serendipitous picture. Winter Cove, looking out Boat Pass to somewhere in Washington state.

A few years ago at a small landing in Okeover Inlet. At the end of the tourist season, everyone just wanted to go home.

I tried to reply to your post about sharing spouts, but the Reply button doesn't seem to be working.
I 100% agree that it would be much easier and more effective if we could share spouts like you can share Tweets. Having to screenshot a spout for relevance and add a link is not nearly as

One of the major dangers in BC waters are deadheads - logs that float vertically with the top awash or just above the water. They can hole a boat instantly. This one's been tagged and dragged into shallow water.

This is one of the reasons I'm sometimes nervous night sailing. You never know what has washed down into the ocean. Moonless nights are the worst.

In the wonderful wet temperate rainforest. It's amazing how much water can come down in one day. When it lets up, we're on the move.

There's a wonderful place on the Sunshine Coast called "Ballet Bay", on Nelson Island. We have been going there for many years, it's a great place to hole up in when there's bad weather. In nice weather, it's outstanding. We relax there.

On the west coast of Vancouver Island, we anchored in a shallow bay off Nootka Sound, behind Bodega Island. The nearby forest had been burned out a while back, and the fog/clouds were thick. Just before the sun went behind the hills, I got this shot.

Zeballos, way up at the far end of Esperanza Inlet on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Fascinating topography around here, very different from the rest of the island, or from anything we have seen before. Very friendly and funky town.

I hope they get this fixed, because I like the site. Days like this it's virtually unusable.

Another awe-inspiring boating destination is Princess Louisa Inlet, at the very top of Jervis Inlet on the BC mainland. We have a special location with three waterfalls. We are tied to shore 90 feet off our stern while we're anchored in 120 feet of water. #BC #Photography .

It's hard to show the scale of landscapes without a reference point. This was taken in Desolation Sound, at the top of the Salish Sea. It makes you feel very small.

More from the west coast of Vancouver Island. Dixie Cove is also in Kyuquot Sound, and again we were the only ones there. I could almost pretend those were palm trees.
