If you take your kid to a gig knowing that the lyrics have swearing, you MUST clearly articulate a one-night swearing amnesty so your kid can scream their lungs out swearing along with the band they love. If you don't do this you're a fucking monster.

I was a nervous kid who avoided scary stuff because I had a vivid imagination and was convinced horror movies would be even worse. First one I saw (Alien) was an absolute liberation. Nowhere near the stuff in my head. So then I watched EVERYTHING.

I just went out in total, zero light-pollution darkness to close an external gate. I lit the way with my phone. I'm normally fine with stuff like that but my brain helpfully started playing a scene from Lake Mungo and now I've given myself the wiggins

13 years ago today, I first found my film Hellbride out in the wild in an actual shop (HMV Lakeside). A couple of years later, HMV stores in general started stocking it deep at Halloween (which really threw me; suddenly there were loads of copies in most branches).

There was a 90s band I loved who split up before recording an album. They only released three singles. I heard that the album was recorded and shelved. I mentioned it online, and a friend of the band happened to read the post and sent me the unreleased tracks. The internet is incredible sometimes.
