Looks like weather will be nice on Saturday (rest of week is mix of rain/heat/t-storms), so one of our local street fairs should be on. Always nice being able to walk to stuff.

Seeing the announcement of a partnership between OpenAI and StackOverflow, my brain immediately jumped to "great! now my tooling can recommend the correct way to do this 8 versions ago and then close the code file as duplicate"

Went for a walk earlier in the light/moderate rain and had a little scare when my (weather-sealed) camera's display screen stopped working. 4 hours later, seems okay and no data loss, so good but still concerned.

Local spot had 7 Line Amber, so had to pick it up. Bonus for Mets game being on Fox tonight so rare game I'll get to watch live vs highlights after the fact.

Woke up a little early, so ate breakfast a little early, got a snarky remark about starting work a little early, ate lunch a little early, now getting hungry for dinner very early. Will I go to bed early? ha.

Amazing interview; fun to geek out. Knew of Allman's of course, but have seen Gov't Mule a number of times live and never disappointed.

"Discard" rather than clicking "Send" is one of the more useful buttons in any email application. Could use it in real life periodically. Or maybe think before I talk. er.

Forgot I was listening to the radio on my stereo, so hitting pause on the remote didn't help when I got an impromptu call. Couldn't find the mute button, so had to (gasp!) move 6 feet to turn down the volume. Reviewing the remote after, mute is a pictogram; I was looking for the word. ahwell.

Whelp, might sound weird but in the market for an AM radio. Undecided if I'll go with something very portable and emergency friendly (NOAA alerts, battery backup/flashlight/etc), or do that separately. Main reason for one is to listen to Mets games, so decent speaker + easy to use.

Gah, whenever I find myself debating about maybe finally switching to an iphone, I have to deal with Apple for tv/music and go insane with 15 different levels of authentication. Nope nope nope nope nope.

Nice hot shower after a group run (and pizza + beer) so very hit the spot. And another cool night, which I'll enjoy while it lasts. We're not far from hot + humid, eek.

Nice to look out the window and see some color contrast again as the leaves come in at different times, depending on species. Maples coming in atm, ash still to come (I think they're our last by a good margin)

Nice, looks like the native wildflower seed packet I was given is germinating in its pot. Not sure how long until they'll flower, though, so will probably still buy some already-blooming flowers this weekend to encourage pollinators to visit my strawberry plant (already blooming).

I mean, it's nice that leaves are coming in. But a bit of a bummer that my view of the eagles nest is obscuring and soon to be blocked.

"Can you hop in to a meeting this afternoon?"
Sure.
"And it's two hours"
Oh.
"And you'll be the main point of contact for questions."
Uh.
"And it's camera on required"
/sigh

Can't remember if I had oregano in two pots or (more likely) it self-seeded in a neighboring container. Even in containers they can be invasive :). But it chose to be with mint, so... this'll be interesting.

Don't mind the occasional survey, but really get annoyed with ones where N/A isn't an option. Doubly annoyed when you give your region and then they ask about local questions outside of it.

Well, that was a first; a spam caller that gave their political spiel on the NYS budget and "offered" to connect me to the governor's call line to tell her to approve it.

First flower for strawberry plant after overwintering. Nothing else at the moment remotely close, so need to pick up some flowers to encourage pollinators!

Two bow abilities just... don't fire. Nothing in game tells you why; need to go online to find out they're disabled due to exploits because Amazon apparently doesn't know how to code/test. So incredibly frustrating. As near as I can tell, the same devs driving the next Lord of the Rings mmo. /sigh

Definitely need to streamline my process, but at least I finally finished working through my photos from last weekend. Nothing crazy, a little written summary and a dozen of the better photos.

Thought I got a photo of a redtail hawk in the distance the other day; thankfully I overheard a fellow birder mention they saw a harrier, as a quick lookup confirms that's what I captured. Fun fact: sometimes they drown their prey. oO

User: Can you format that to 2 decimals?
Me: Sure, but it's part of a calculation, so the numbers will look off.

I need to do some processing + writing for a decent blog post from a photo hike this past weekend, but found this rare undiscovered-by-science dwarf osprey! (or, um, a cooper's hawk with a well-placed shadow that totally didn't confuse me at first)
