Things I have learned from agent and editor-suggested revisions:
1. Stakes need to be crystal clear (why is this bad, what will happen if it happens)
2. Exposition isn't bad per se but it needs to be broken up with action.
3. Tension, tension, tension.

My favorite part of #PrepTober is freaking out all October about the public commitment to writing 50k words for #NaNoWriMo , so then later in November you can also freak out about having to write 50k words because of your public commitment.
