Landlord Dilemma
Molly, a Spotted Orbweaver #model with #stripes on her #prickly legs, moved in June 7. She spun a web across the #window , her #path avoiding the #metal screen. She's still #hanging around, enjoying #plenty of #insect meals...rent-free! Am I being too #Soft ?

Trying to remember how & why we did the nut-topped one. It might have been to mark "do not soak this loaf with brandy bc loaf is destined for sober family member."

#Plenty of loaves of fruitcake in a 250° F oven, with a big hot water bath there to keep the whole environment nice and moist. Looking at this photo, I remember my mother say that no pan should touch any other pan. So there's that.

Adding #plenty of nuts to the fruit mixture. There is added rum or brandy, too, you can see a bit of liquid on the bottom of this big pan. (and now I want to find the directions to see what the significance of it was)

A large metal dutch oven has nuts added to the fruit mixture. There is a bit of liquid at the bottom of the pan. It's liquor liquid. Rum. Maybe Brandy.

I think I'll make a thread of it since there are other photos that fit the #DailyPictureTheme in this baking session series.

To bake a big ole batch of fruitcake, you need to have #plenty of loaf pans. Here, drying in the dish drainer after being washed, either before or after the bake.

Dish drainer contains a bunch of aluminum loaf pans, in a jumble, drying off.

While most of my native plants—cone flowers, black-eyed Susans, blazing star—have begun to go to seed... And the sunflowers and zinnia and cosmos are just past peak… there’s still #plenty aster, blue vervain, and hoary vervain just getting ready to bloom!

There was #plenty of fog in the upper New York bay at 6:30 AM on June 21, 2015. You can just make out the Statue of Liberty and the wispy skylines of Jersey City and NYC.
