We still wear our masks in public.

Often we are the ONLY people wearing masks, but occasionally I see someone else with a mask on and we exchange frustratedly grateful glances.

Now it dawns on me that I could just go private for a bit to see, after publicly asking the question. 😳 🤣

Always wonder when conservative politicians use terms like "measured response."

Measured in what, exactly? Rounds of ammunition? Money spent? Lives?
If lives, whose?
What's the acceptable limit before it is no longer "measured?"

Suspect just more smoke and mirrors to soothe the media.

I had a problem with a detail of the Biden campaign strategy and someone took it way wrong and accused me of being anti-Biden and worse.
(I'm far left, but voted for him and will again.)
It all happened on Ms Myra Faye's timeline, so I kind of get why.
But I miss her. 😢

UnAmerican might be the most polite insult piled on.
NOT a fan of the Bush Doctrine.

Pearl Harbor could be described as Japan merely protecting their Pacific interests with a preemptive strike.

Wrong is wrong.

They've been letting some women and children leave the area, but have been intent on keeping the men of "military age" from fleeing Rafah before they launch their offensive.

It certainly looks like a pre-staged massacre in the making.

Missed the date, lol.

So many cool old vehicles no longer being manufactured.

(Aside: Yet another reason Musk buying Tesla irritates me. The Roadster was awesome, and it would be even better updated over time, but Emo bought the company and made static, ugly eggs & rusting angular crap.)

EVERY MAGA/GOP accusation is a confession.

They claim only they are 'right' and everyone else is 'bad.'

They *know* they are doing wrong.

They assume and project that the 'bad' folx must be doing the same, but worse.

Doesn't matter to their base that they're the only ones actually doing wrong.

Fear, all sorts.

Even though we're far more likely to be know our attackers, we had the irrational fear, Stranger Danger, drilled into us as the population was exploding.

I suspect population density probably also plays a part in the shift. World population 1974, 4 billion, now over 8 billion.

This is more than just the right to an abortion.
This is about over half the population having the right to control their own body. Enshrining bodily autonomy also covers trans folx.

The most basic right is power over our own body.
Our nation has a long, dark history of overlooking that.

There used to be public service announcements on TV to remind folx they had kids. Every night, just before the local news, an ominous voice would come over the airwaves: "10:00 p.m., Do you know where your children are?"

The curfews seemed to be for both the kids and their parents. 🤣

IF those writing the checks consider it worthy of the necessary time and resources needed to include that sort of logic.

Currently, "AI" is just code that's really good at fuzzy logic, not technically truly intelligent. GIGO still matters.

We do not yet have the guardrails needed for true AI.

Text reads:
From 1978-2022 CEO pay grew by 1,200%,
Average worker pay grew by 15%.
