Slowing down has been the hardest step towards my mental health. I’m still stuck in the “Always On” mindset. If I’m not doing something, I’m failing. Operant conditioning sucks.

When I first joined, I was posting a lot about mental health. I had to step away from social media for the same reason. Back to a more stable mental state and still excited about Spoutible’s possibilities.

Currently re-reading The Silmarillion. It’s become a yearly tradition to revisit Tolkien’s works, starting with the beginning of Middle Earth through the War of the Ring. Anyone else have a yearly literary tradition?

I don’t know how or why, but I have the same apathy towards dishes in the dishwasher as I do unfolded laundry in the basket. The job has been done. They can rot in their clean hell until I deign to soil them once again.

Despite the extensive work I have already put into myself, I still get very angry at very random or inappropriate times. I know it’s just a vestigial reaction to all of the emotions I’ve swallowed over the years, but it’s on the verge of being annoying for annoyance’s sake.

My current aesthetic is “well kept forest”. Been clearing brush and deadfall in preparation for fire season in my area and I never realized how delightful open forest is.

I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that the USA could afford both if the right people got their heads out of their asses, but at this current juncture, I think I’d rather an universal basic income over my student loans being forgiven. Thoughts?

I’ve always been a liberal, but I was probably close to being fringe far right. I was angry all of the time, none of my problems were my fault, and I was looking for people to be angry with. I focused on corporations and their inherent greed, not the people, like myself, who were being abused by the

Maybe I just didn’t know where to look for info, but the physical pain of depression caught me completely off guard. Waking up with every muscle and joint in agony, even my bones hurting, was something I had not considered a symptom. Just assumed it was my job/getting older.

The hardest lesson I had to learn after I let go was how capable I was. I didn’t know how to do much of what I’m doing now. It wasn’t fun. It wasn’t easy. But I learned. And not to be too cliche, but I am still learning, still growing. It’s not too late to be the person you want to be. #older #wiser

thread 2 Threaded Spouts
I said this earlier, but no one noticed. Can I get a few echoes for this one?

First in the thread:

Thank you firefighters for saving our house while your house burned.

Second in the thread:

The firefighters prayer.

I have a herd of deer hanging out in my field, songbirds flitting through my cedars and oaks, and squirrels arguing over unripened black walnuts and acorns. The family are eating breakfast and I’m sipping a coffee. #almostheaven #WildAndWonderful
