I just learned that a bee swarm gathered behind home plate at Dback home park hosting Dodgers, so they called a beekeeper (was at his son’s Tball game) who then came up from very minor leagues to majors, took care of the bees, and was invited to throw the ceremonial first pitch. #ITFDB

#PottingUp : I replanted the tomato seedlings I sowed on Spring Equinox (March 19).
They go from long spindly things to what seems like short plants. But!! The buried stems will develop new roots, good for feeding these hungry plants that will grow so many tomatoes. #gardening 🌱🪴🍅

#PottingUp : I replanted the tomato seedlings I sowed on Spring Equinox (March 19).
They go from long spindly things to what seems like short plants. But!! The buried stems will develop new roots, good for feeding these hungry plants that will grow so many tomatoes. #gardening 🌱🪴🍅

What is your favorite gif?

Sure, yesterday I shared my poppies in the wind gif as my fave bc I made gif Yday and question was asked Yday.

Then I looked thru Gifs I Have Made. This is an all time fave—my mother as a girl during a game of Kick the Can in upstate New York (in 1940 or so)

Ha! This promise of the first pointy flower shoot was one month ago.
Lotta #CaliforniaPoppy flowers have bloomed since then. Today tho, the first one with an orange-yellow gradient in its petals. Gonna be saving the seeds from THIS plant #CaliforniaWildflowers

1/ Two years ago today, on 4/25/22, Twitter’s Board accepted Elon Musk’s offer to acquire the company at $54.20/share.
As an ex-director for civic integrity at Twitter, I’ve watched what Musk has done since then.
And today is my last post on this platform.
I’m leaving.

2/ TL;DR: After watching and tweeting dramatically less for the past two years, I’ve decided that (for me) even passive participation on this platform amounts to complicity in Elon Musk’s project of promoting anti-democratic values.
I will not have any part in that.
3/ Musk is a poster child for divisive racist, sexist, and plutocratic tendencies that undermine democracy’s commitment to equality for all.
No amount of hand-waving can hide what Musk is doing.
Destroying Twitter’s value is the tell: It’s not about the money.
It’s worse.

I found a Feb 1969 news article about her plans to demonstrate by burning gas company charge cards (they ended up cutting them, not burning them), and the editors huffed over how “this isn’t the right way to go about it” as news editors are wont to do in response to every demonstration ever.
