Earlier today, someone random person falsely reported a data leak at Spoutible with a list of IP addresses to scare people into deleting their accounts. Those IP addresses are NOT from our database, and our systems haven't been breached. No user's data was accessed.

The same individual(s) then sent thousands of fake requests to our delete account URL to overwhelm our servers. This is clearly an attack on Spoutible meant to dissuade people from joining. Once again, none of our systems were breached, nor was any user's data accessed.

The attack is still ongoing, and Cloudflare is blocking the requests. Once the attack stops, we will enable the ability to delete your account.

This is just from the past few minutes alone. It is clear someone first tried to cause panic and then flooded our delete URL to overwhelm our servers.

Are all the accounts spamming replies to this thread coming from just one IP address or is this some kind of a concerted effort?
Anyways, whoever doing this probably counted on you guys being too exhausted from dealing with the surge of new users and sought to take advantage of the situation.
In response to Christopher Bouzy.
