I was thinking about age limits for politicians today. I started to think - “Ok, maybe if you will turn 80 before the election, that’s the limit.” Then I realized Nancy Pelosi is 83. Would that be fair to her? Or her voters? There must be a better way. #mitchmcconnell

I don't believe anyone has the right to tell electeds that they're too old to serve, especially, EFFECTIVE, legislators such as:
Rep Maxine Waters
Rep Jim Clyburn
Rep Eleanor Holmes Norton
Spkr Nancy Pelosi
All over 80; all effective.
#EndAgeism
The problem is congressional proceedure, not age.

You’re right - id forgotten so many effective legislators are over 80. We do need procedures, though, to deal with issues like McConnell and Grassley, and allowing Feinstein to resign without losing a place on the Jusicial Committee. It *should* have been dealt with when Storm Thurmond was around.

A cognitive test after, say, 75. The candidate needs to pass before being placed on the PRIMARY ballot, and in plenty of time to find a replacement if they fail. Maybe different ages for Reps, Sens & POTUS, since their terms are 2, 6 & 4 years respectively

I don't think there should be age limits. I think there should be term limits.
