It's a blue jay defending her nest from an eagle that had perched close to her nest. Isn't it cool? Anyway, I'm a dork, but I DO NOT apologize for it.

That is an awesome photograph! Up in the Seattle area once, we saw nests of herons trying to defend their eggs from a bald eagle. It was all at once fascinating and tragic. The sound of the herons' cries were the sounds mothers make everywhere when protecting their young. Thanks for sharing this.
